PURPOSE:To obtain a composition excellent in vulcanization bondability with another material by mixing an EPDM rubber with a thermosetting phenolic resin, a fat or oil softener, and sulfur. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising an ethylene/propylene/diene termpolymer(EPDM), a thermosetting phenolic resin, a fat or oil softener (limited to a drying oil) an sulfur, wherein 10-20 pts.wt. said thermosetting phenolic resin and 5-15 pts.wt. said oil or fat softener are contained in 100 pts.wt. EPDM. Examples of the thermosetting phenolic resins used include a resol phenolic resin and a novolac phenolic resin, and these resins can contribute to an improvement in the vulcanization bondability with another material. A laminate can be obtained by laminating a phenolic resin-impregnated paper with the above EPDM composition and integrating them by vulcanization. This laminate can show excellent insulation properties and heat resistance. |
