PURPOSE:To correct the output of a gyroscope and to enhance reliability by utilizing the temperature characteristics of a semiconductor light source itself, and measuring the temperature of an environment. CONSTITUTION:The intensity of the light of a semiconductor laser 1 is always detected with a power-monitoring photodiode 2. An LD driving circuit 3 controls an injected current so that the light intensity has a constant value. The monochromatic light of the laser 1 is inputted into an optical fiber 5 through a lens optical system 4. The light beams which are turned clockwise and couterclockwise in the optical fiber core are synthesized again at the outlet port. The light enters into a photodetector, and the intensity of the interference light is detected. Thus the output of an angular speed is obtained. Said angular speed output is imparted into a CPU 8 through an A/D converter 7 of a computer system 9. Thus the temperature of the environment is obtained. |
