PURPOSE:To obtain royal jelly powder for beverages, capable of transparently dissolving in water and preservable at ambient temperature for a long period by treating raw royal jelly with an organic solvent, concentrating the resultant solution and then freeze-drying the prepared concentrate. CONSTITUTION:A 1-4C aliphatic alcohol or acetone in a volume of about 0.5-5 times based on raw royal jelly is added thereto and the resultant mixture is stirred at >=50 deg.C to deposit and precipitate water-insoluble substances, which are subsequently removed by centrifugation or filtration. The obtained royal jelly solution after removing the water-insoluble substances is then concentrated at about <=80 deg.C liquid temperature under reduced pressure to afford a royal jelly concentrate. The resultant royal jelly concentrate is subsequently freeze- dried and then pulverized to provide royal jelly powder for beverages. |
