A hydrogenstorage alloy powder is used for purifying rare gas. The hydrogenstorage alloy powder is formed, together with another metal or ceramics powder, porous, fibrous or other form, into a formed product under pressure and/or heat. The blank hydrogenstorage alloy powder, or the hydrogenstorage alloy powder, in the formed product, is subjected to at least one hydrogeneration and at least one dehydrogeneration. The formed products are received within a sealed container having a gas inlet and a gas outlet, and feedstock rare gas is brought into contact with the molded products in the container, thereby removing impurity gas from the feedstock rare gas.
