<p>The device for lifting and moving objects (14) comprises means (19) for lifting the objects resting on stationary supports (12, 13) and means (21) for moving these objects in order to displace them in a translational direction relative to the said supports (12, 13), the said means interacting with a sliding surface (S) located in the vicinity of the supports. The surface (S) forms, with the contact surface between the object (14) to be moved and the supports (12, 13), a dihedron whose edge faces away from the direction (D) in which it is desired to move the object (14), the said means (19, 21) being adapted for raising and for simultaneously being able to push the objects in order to hold them during their movement at a predetermined distance above the supports (12, 13).
