<p>Folding exercise weight bench has a head frame (10) and a folding bench sub-assembly (12) the latter including upper and lower longitudinal members (20, 22) pivoted to fixed parts of the frame at the head end and to generally vertical leg members (30) at the foot to form a folding linkage whereby the sub-assembly can be swung from its position of use to a generally vertical position within or against the head frame. The leg members are shaped to provide cranked upper end portions (36) directed towards the head end with their pivotal connections (32) at their extremities and their remaining parts more remote from the head end engaging the foot end of the upper members so that the linkage is rigid and resists downward loading on the bench in use.
