PURPOSE: To diminish nephrotoxicity due to any preparation substance and metabolite by applying an effective amount of a specific xanthine derivative. CONSTITUTION: This preparation contains a xanthine derivative such as pentoxifylline, propentofylline, 1-(5-hydroxy-5-methylhexyl)-3-methylxanthine or 7-ethoxymethyl-1-(5-hydroxy-5-methylhexyl)-3-methylxanthine together with at least one kind of nephrotoxic ingredient. Nephrotoxicity reduction is especially significant when amphotericin B is administered. |
