PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of tack-in phenomenon and drift-out phenomenon by a method wherein, in a device which computes the target steering angle value of a rear wheel steering angle in relation to the steering state of front wheels, drive wheel torque is detected, and by using the detecting torque, a target steering value is corrected. CONSTITUTION:In a device which steers rear wheels by means of a rear wheel steering mechanism in relation to a front wheel steering state, a wheel speed detecting means (a) to independently detect the wheel speed of each wheel is provided, and based on each wheel speed, a wheel speed difference I between a driven wheel and nondrive wheel is computed by a means (b). A cornering radius detecting means (c) to detect the cornering radius of a vehicle is provided, and a wheel speed difference II between a drive wheel and a non-drive wheel produced by a cornering locus difference during running on a cornering radius is estimated by an estimating means (d) by means of an output from the cornering radius detecting means. By subtracting the wheel speed differences I and II by means of a correcting means (e), a correction value III of the wheel speed difference I is calculated, and by using the correction value III, a rear wheel steering angle amount is decided by a deciding means (f). |
