PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and the maintenance performance of the program specifications by detecting automatically the propriety of contents of the source codes and the program specifications and at the same time reflecting automatically this detecting result to the program specifications. CONSTITUTION:A document corresponding to an analyzed source code is inputted among those documents which are composed of the prescribed description items and already stored in an external storage 11 for document after input via an input/display device 1. Then the anlyzing/editing result of the source code is compared with the corresponding element of the document with the same items defined as a single unit. Thus the propriety of the document is checked for detection of the different points. This checking result is outputted to the device 1 or a printer device 12 and the document editor is urged for correction. Furthermore the different points between the detected source code and the document are automatically reflected to the document, and the correction results are stored in the storage 11. Thus the reliability and the maintenance performance are improved for the program specifications.
