PURPOSE:To obtain an illustration image with high quality by designating a specific color part and a range in converted hue data and generating a histo gram of hue data, decreasing the gradation, based thereon, bringing it to inverse conversion to color image data. CONSTITUTION:The processor is provided with a converting means 5 for converting color image data to each data of hue, saturation and lightness, a designating means 3 for designating a specific color part and a range in converted hue data, and a generating means 16 for generating a histogram of a designated hue. Also, the processor is provided with a gradation converting means 7 for decreasing the gradation, based on this histogram and the hue data, and an inverse converting means 6 for bringing each data thereof to inverse conversion to color image data. Therefore, from natural picture of a photograph, etc., in which there are many somber colors, a distinct illustration image can be generated simply by anybody irrespective of a scene of its docu ment, especially, even in the case of a scene such as a person's face. In such a way, it is possible to convert to the illustration image having a high quality, and the convenience of the device can be improved. |
