A thin sheet of metal foil is inserted in a typewriter and conventional typing strokes produce indentations therein. The ribbon of the typewriter contains material of a high degree of visibility which is deposited at the bottom of the indentations. A fixative ensures that the material is properly disposed in place. The sheet is mounted on a base and a layer of clear plastic is provided around the plaque. The plaque is removably mounted on a coffin by a pair of pins or brackets each of which includes portions disposed at an angle of about 45 DEG to one another. Attaching means including a bracelet secures the plaque to the remains within the coffin.
