PURPOSE:To provide light emitting luminance responding to a decrease in experience of a user by a method wherein by means of an output from a using state detecting sensor to determine the using state of a light emission display part, light emitting luminance of the light emission display part is switcheable and regulatable according to a using time of a light emission display device. CONSTITUTION:With an ignition switch 2 turned ON, when an illumination switch 6 is turned OFF, a light emission display part 5 displays by means of light emitting luminance when the surroundings are bright and when the illumination switch 6 is turned ON, the light emission display part displays by means of light emitting luminance when the surroundings are dark. In this case, when running of a vehicle is detected from an output from a using state detecting sensor 11, e.g. a distance sensor, a timer in a luminance control part 9 is set, measurement of a working time is started. A light emission display part drive circuit 4 is controlled so that, at a point of measuring time for a specified time, light emitting luminance of a light emission display part 5 is reduced to a ratio, for example, 85-75% of that during the starting of a working time. Thereafter, light emitting luminance is reduced and is kept in a reducing state at a specified value. |
