PURPOSE:To facilitate release and to correspond to automation by temporarily fastening an elastic sheet used as a damping material for a brush to one surface of a stretched sheet and forming a plurality of slits thereto so as to cross the stretching direction of the stretched sheet at a right angle. CONSTITUTION:The whole of a laminate is cut in the width direction of a damping material for a brush. A sticking film 13 is temporarily fastened to a cutting table in such a state that both side lines thereof are extended left and right to develop shift preventing action so as not to shift a rubber sheet 6 by the pressure at the time of the cutting of said film. The formed rubber cut pieces 6a become an integrated state as a whole by the sticking strength possessed by rubber itself. Next, the sticking film 13 is released and removed in this state. At the time of use, the second slits 16 are applied in the longitudinal direction at a predetermined interval and the whole is cut into a large number of rows by said second slits 16. Subsequently, the sticking film 13 is released in this state and the cut stretched sheet 14 is pulled in its stretching direction. As the result, the cut rubber pieces 6a become a mutually spaced-apart state.
