PURPOSE:To provide a vaginal suppository having good absorbability on mucosa, especially vaginal mucosa, not having a mucosa-irritating property, having excellent stability and useful for treating endometriosis by containing danazol and a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. CONSTITUTION:A suppository contains 1 pt.wt. of danazol and 0.1-20 pts.wt. preferably 0.2-5 pts.wt. of a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, preferably polyoxyethylene stearyl ether or polyoxyethylene oleyl ether addition-reacted with >=15 moles of ethylene oxide. The suppository is further compounded with a molding agent such as cacao fat, hard fat, laurin fat, glycerol monopalmitate or glycerogelatin and a viscosity-adjusting agent such as glycerol, polyoxyethylene glycol having an average mol.wt. of <=600, propylene glycol or medium chain fatty acid triglyceride. |
