PURPOSE:To prepare a packed diamond-shaped three-colored rice cake which can be stored without cracking, by putting three pieces of rice cakes having different colors into a bottom-opened diamond-shaped clear container in three layers, sealing the open end, and cooling to solidify the cake. CONSTITUTION:A red-colored rice cake 1, a white-colored rice cake 2 and a green-colored rice cake 3 are prepared separately, and each cake is shaped to the same diamond-shaped rice cake 4, or each rice cake is solidified to some extent, stacked one upon another, and cut in the shape of a three-layer tricolor diamond-shaped rice cake 5. The cake or cakes are stacked in a bottom-opened diamond-shaped clear container made of a synthetic resin. As an alternative process, a viscous colored rice cake is poured in the container, cooled, the second viscous rice cake having different color is poured on the above rice cake layer, cooled, etc. to obtain a three-layer tricolor diamond-shaped rice cake.
