ENZYME-TREATED CELLULOSE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject cellulose having excellent physiological activities such as cholesterol-adsorptivity, oil absorption and protein adsorptivity by treating pulp fiber with a cellulase-containing enzyme, thereby depolymerizing the cellulose into soluble glucose and cellobiose. CONSTITUTION:Pulp fiber is treated with a cellulase-containing enzyme and 1-30wt.% of the pulp fiber is depolymerized into soluble glucose and/or cellobiose to obtain the objective cellulose.
