A clamp C comprising an annular member 10, 11, 12 which is capable of assuming and holding expanded and contracted, formations of different cross-sectional area, is attached to the mouth of a bag B whereby the mouth assumes the shape of the member in each of the expanded and contracted positions. As shown the clamp parts 10, 11, 12 which are made of a plastics material are hinged one to another so that the parts 11 and 12 provide an over-centre locking action when the extremities of the part 10 are pressed towards one another. The clamp is wholly or partly enclosed by the bag material. In another construction, Fig. 8 (not shown), the part 10 carries a pair of spring fingers for snap engaging the parts 11 and 12 in their operative positions. |
