The invention relates to a gutter which can be embedded in the ground and which is intended for surface water to run off, as well as its method of use. This gutter is preferably made of a plastic material and is characterised in that it makes use of identical gutter modules 1, 1' which interlock and are connected in pairs with the aid of cover gratings 2 which are locked in a straddling manner between two adjacent modules, against the ends of their U-shaped walls, above the rebates 7-8, and in such a way as to form a monobloc assembly of considerable length. The method of use is characterised in that the modules 1, 1', the gratings 2 or half-gratings, as well as the base plates forming a partition are assembled on the ground in order to form a gutter with grating having the desired dimensions, before it is placed in the trench and then embedded in the concrete. <IMAGE>
