The invention relates to a process and an installation for industrially packaging eggs which are initially contained in a cellular plate which comprises several juxtaposed longitudinal rows of cells; each cellular plate (A) provided with eggs is successively brought to a sampling position (160) from which the eggs (0) are temporarily removed from the plate; the latter is then longitudinally sectioned into several distinct supporting elements (a) corresponding to rows; after replacing a set of eggs (0) in the cells of the sectioned plate, these supporting elements are simultaneously and continuously conveyed to an assembly position (9) by means of a conveyor (4) which leads them through paths of different lengths, such that the supporting elements provided with eggs (b) arrive individually at the assembly position, at a uniform distance, one after the other. <IMAGE>
