PURPOSE:To obtain an output which is stored properly in an output area with good balance and to reduce the load on an operator by calculating the enlargement or reduction rate of a vector font automatically from the size of the output area. CONSTITUTION:When a host computer 14 inputs data to a CPU 16, it is decided whether the data is area data or not and when not, it is decided whether the data is character string data or not; when so, vector data and character size data on each character are read out of a vector font memory 26. Then when no data is stored in an area memory 30, the vector data is converted into dot data, which is stored in a specific location of a page memory 32, but when the area data is stored, on the other hand, the longitudinal magnification and lateral magnification of the longitudinal and lateral lengths of the area size data to the longitudinal and lateral lengths of a character string obtained from the character size data are calculated. Then the vector data are multiplied by the longitudinal magnification and lateral magnification to obtain corrected vector data. |
