PURPOSE: To prevent the clogging of a nozzle by connecting a container to an intermediate reservoir hydraulically when the nozzle communicates with the intermediate reservoir through the supply conduit passing through a silicon plate and a tubular element extends into a receiving means and a cartridge is inserted into the receiving means. CONSTITUTION: A tubular element 36 is fixed to a wall 18 and an intermediate reservoir 16 is allowed to communicate with a space 30. This tubular element 36 has the pointed end 37 extending into the space 30 to be turned toward a hole 34. Ink is ejected on a carrier 29 through a plurality of the nozzles 45 communicating with the corresponding ejection chambers to be provided to one of the insulating layers of a printing element 35. The ejection chambers communicate with the intermediate reservoir through the supply pipelines passing through a silicon plate 39 to extend. By using the ink cartridge 32 separated from a printing head 1, the reservoir 16 and a printing element 35 can be held to an ink-free state during the keeping period of a printer. |
