The invention relates to a mechanical device making it possible to machine smooth or profiled concave or convex circular segments of different radii and different length by electron discharge machining, by radial oscillatory sweeping of the electrode. It consists of two electrode holder arms (I) rotationally guided by the spindles (2) and translationally guided by two parallel jaws (4) (3). A plate (8) and crank (7) (10) system moved by an electric motor (9) causes the oscillatory sweeping of the electrodes (12) over the entire surface of the components. The radius of sweep can be adjusted on the electrode holder arms (I) by moving the centre of rotation, and, at the electrodes (12) by virtue of a slideway on the electrode holders (II). The amplitude of the sweeping motion is adjustable on the plate (8) by moving the axis of articulation of the crank (7). <IMAGE>
