PURPOSE:To enable rapid measurement of the concentration of starch by a method wherein sample starch is made to flow through a continuous channel and subjected to complete amylolysis to be turned into glucose units by an immobilized amylolytic enzyme and the units are measured. CONSTITUTION:A measuring apparatus comprises an injector 3, a fixed-enzyme column 4 to which an amylolytic enzyme is immobilized, and a measuring cell 5 to which an enzyme electrode 6, an Ag/AgCl reference electrode 7 and an opposite electrode 8 are fitted. A buffer 1 is supplied through a pump 2 and the injector 3 and the supply is stopped temporarily in the column 4. Herein starch is subjected to amylolysis by the enzyme and supplied with the buffer to the electrode 6 to which a glucose oxidase is immobilized, and glucose produced in the column 4 is detected by the electrode 6. Then, the buffer for which measurement is finished is caught in a waste liquid bottle 10 and a measured value is recorded by a recorder 11. In this way, the concentration of the starch can be measured rapidly. |
