PURPOSE:To perform a noise reduction processing fitted in the sense of eyes by deciding the addition ratio of an essential original image and an image to which a recursive filtering processing is applied based on the change quantity and change direction of detected brightness. CONSTITUTION:The change quantity and the change direction from light to shade or vice versa of the brightness in the motion of the image are detected from the differential value of the essential original image and the image to which the recursive filtering processing with a frame memory 7, look-up tables 6, 8 and an adder 9 is applied with a motion detector 12. And the addition ratio of the essential original image and the image to which the recursive filtering processing is applied is decided based on detected change quantity and change direction, then, they are added. In such a way, since no prominent noise appears when the brightness changes from light to shade, the image in which the elimination of tailing phenomenon is emphasized can be obtained, and the image to which the recursive filtering processing is applied is emphasized when the brightness clearly changes from light to shade, thereby, the image on which motion correction is added as reducing the prominent noise can be obtained. |
