PURPOSE:To increase the electrode capacity and to maintain the mechanical strength by making the total amount of the binder to the alloy less than 2wt.%, and including polyehtylene oxide to the alloy at least 0.5wt.% or more. CONSTITUTION:A slurry is made by mixing and kneading a hydrogen storage alloy powder, a binder including at least polyethylene oxide, and a dispersion medium, and the resultant shurry is held in a conductive holder. And the total sum of the binder is made less than 2wt.% to the alloy, and the polyethylene oxide is included at least 0.5wt.% or more to the alloy. That is, since the polyethylene oxide has a high viscosity, and the binding effect is also high, only by a small amount of addition, a sufficient slurry viscosity and the binding force can be obtained, and furthermore, it has an extensive chemical strength giving another advantage. Consequently, a hydrogen storage electrode of a high capacity and a high service life is obtained while maintaining a sufficient electrode strength. |
