PURPOSE:To speed up pattern matching of the object of recognition by deciding the position of the object of recognition and sorting plural objects of recognition into groups by means of the difference of the degree of coincidence obtained by means of pattern-matching plural objects of recognition and a specified template. CONSTITUTION:At first, all the patterns being the objects of recognition are matched by using the specified template 28 so as to obtain the degree of coincidence. When the positions of plural objects of recognition are previously decided, plural objects of recognition are matched by using specified templates 32-35, and the degree of coincidence in the specified positions of respective patterns being the objects of recognition is read. Then, the patterns being the objects of recognition, which have the same degree of coincidence are set to one group as the result of reference with the previously obtained degree of coincidence and then plural objects of recognition 18 are sorted. Thus, the pattern matching of the objects of recognition 18 is speeded up. |
