PURPOSE:To prevent reduction in strength by irradiating the surface of ceramic with laser and changing the color of the surface of ceramic. CONSTITUTION:In irradiating sintered plate of ceramic such as Al2O3 with outputted 1kw laser beam at 10-10,000J/cm<2> energy density in an inert gas atmosphere such as Ar by using a high output device such as CO<2> laser processing machine, beam movement at >=10mm/second is carried out at the focus of exposure so that milk white can be changed into black without damage of the sintered plate such as partial removal thereof. When the ceramic is not oxide, laser irradiation is carried out in atmosphere or an oxygen atmosphere to give the similar effects. |
