PURPOSE:To obtain a calcia crucible excellent in hydration resistance by adding a specific amount of La2O3 or further Y2O3 as a flux to electrofused calcia powder and sintering the resultant mixture. CONSTITUTION:To electrofused calcia powder, is added 0.01-5.0wt.% La2O3 or further 0.005-5.0wt.% Y2O3 and the resultant mixture is formed and sintered at 1300-1900 deg.C to afford a calcia crucible useful for melting functional metallic materials, such as shape memorizing alloy and photomagnetic recording material. |
