PURPOSE:To readily obtain a heat insulating structure having excellent shape retention and heat insulating properties by calcining and carbonizing an extrusion molded article comprising carbon black in fluffy state, carbon fiber chop, thermally volatile substance and binder in a given ratio. CONSTITUTION:Carbon black in fluffy state (not granulated and in finely granulated state) is blended with 5-20wt.% carbon fiber chop. 100 pts.wt. of the blend is kneaded with 30-200 pts.wt. thermally volatile substance and a binder. Then the kneaded material is extrusion-molded, calcined and carbonized. |
