NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R is H or 2-15C acyl; * mark is asymmetric C). EXAMPLE:S-(-)-2-methyl-2-cyclopentenol. USE:A synthetic intermediate for steroids, alkaloids, etc. PREPARATION:The objective compound of the formula I can be obtained by reaction between (A) a compound of formula II and (B) a fatty acid vinyl ester or triglyceride as acylating agent at the molar ratio 1/0.5 in the presence of an esterase at 20-45 deg.C for 1-1000hr.
