PURPOSE:To reduce a program amount by a method wherein the degree of satisfaction selected at each speed according to an actual running state is computed based on a predetermined fuzzy inference, and further the collective degree of satisfaction of a plurality of speeds is determined and selected. CONSTITUTION:A speed change control device 14 sets the degree of satisfaction set at each speed of an automatic transmission 12 by a set means based on a shift pattern, and computes the degree of satisfaction, selected at each speed according to an actual running state, according to a control rule and based on fuzzy inference. Based on the computed degree of satisfaction, the collective degree of satisfaction selected at each of a plurality of speeds is computed. Based on the computed degree of satisfaction, for example, a speed having the highmost degree of satisfaction is determined, and gear shift of the automatic transmission 12 is effected through a hydraulic control device 30. This constitution performs optimum speed change control according to various running state by means of a low program amount. |
