The invention relates to a tow hook for towing of caravans, trailers or equivalent. A tow hook according to the invention is characterized in that the contact surfaces 5,6 of the inner surface of the frame part 1 are formed essentially by two oblique surfaces, most expediently parts of a circular cone surface, separated by an interspace and oppositely directed, the one 5 of which is situated in the mouth to the hole 10 intended for the hook part, which hole tapers in the direction of fitting of the hook part 2, and corresponding contact surfaces 7,8 are disposed on the outer surface of the hook part 2, and in that the rapid-action locking member 9 is an axle journal 9 mounted rotatably in the frame part 1 and situated transversely in relation to the hole 10 for the hook part 2, in which journal at the said hole a notch 11 has been arranged at a certain angle of the journal 9 and an eccentric surface 12 has been arranged at a different angle of the journal, in a certain angular position of the journal the end 16 of the hook part 2 being able to be guided past the journal 9, whereafter, through rotation of the journal, the eccentric surface 12 presses against the end 16 of the hook part 2, by means of the surface 13 arranged transversely in relation to the longitudinal axis of the hook part 2, most expediently by means of an inner cylindrical surface, presses the contact surfaces 5,6,7,8 of the hook part 2 and of the frame part 1 one against the other, and locks the said parts in relation one to the other.
