PURPOSE:To protect an amorphous semiconductor or a transparent electrode against damage and to lessen a solar cell of this design in manufacturing manhours by a method wherein a linear conductive layer which is much thicker than an amorphous semiconductor layer is formed on a transparent electrode through a screen printing method, and the amorphous semiconductor layer is formed thereon, and furthermore a rear electrode is successively provided thereon through an electrode printing method. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 21, 22, 23... are formed on a light transmitting insulating substrate so as to be arranged in a line, and each of linear conductive layers 52, 53... much thicker than an amorphous semiconductor layer is formed on each of the transparent electrodes at a position adjacent to one of the edges of the electrode in a direction in which the transparent electrodes are arranged, where the conductive layers are formed in such a manner that they are printed with conductive resin and burned at a temperature higher than the forming temperature of an amorphous semiconductor. In succession, an amorphous semiconductor layer 3 is formed covering the transparent electrodes and the linear conductive layers, and then rear electrodes 42, 43... are formed on the linear conductive layers covering the amorphous semiconductor layer 3 as provided with a gap between them at a position adjacent to the edge of the transparent electrode on an opposite side, where the electrodes are formed in such a manner that they are printed with conductive resin and burned at a temperature lower than the forming temperature of the amorphous semiconductor. |
