PURPOSE:To prevent the thickness of a foam from being made thin and also prevent the external appearance of the foam from being marked with defects such as the peelings, dents and wrinkles of surface materials by applying a thermosetting resin foamable starting liquid in a noncream state onto one of the surface materials running at a predetermined speed, placing the other surface material on the coated surface material, forming them into a laminated shape by pressing them with soft rollers, and allowing them to be foamed and hardened. CONSTITUTION:A coating device 12 consists of a discharge nozzle 9 connected to a high-speed mixer 10 and a doctor blade 15 for spreading the application of a coating liquid, which is provided with a cleaning means 17. The doctor blade 15 is fixed by the mounting support shafts 15' of the blade 15 to supports 18' inserted into frame stands 19 in a vertically movable state, and by means of clearance adjusting mechanism 18, the clearance G between the blade 15 and an undersurface material 7 i.e. the coating thickness of the starting liquid can be adjusted. A noncream foamable starting liquid 11 is fed at a predetermined rate from the discharge nozzle 9 onto the undersurface material 7 of kraft paper transferred at a predetermined speed, and after continuously forming a coated layer thereon by the doctor blade, the top surface material 8 of kraft paper is placed oppositely on the undersurface material with the coated layer therebetween to form them into a laminated shape by pressing them (coated layer is in a noncream state) with soft rollers 13. The resultant laminated material is transferred to a double conveyor section to be foamed and hardened, and thus, a foam 14 with the both-surface material can be obtained. |
