A method is provided that comprises transfecting eukaryotic cells with a replicable vector comprising a nucleic acid sequence encoding a GTP operably linked to control sequences recognized by the transfected cells. Also provided is an isolated nucleic acid sequence encoding a GTP which sequence includes in part that shown in figure 1 or includes that shown in figure 11, as well as vectors and host cell cultures containing such nucleic acid sequence.
