[Also in Division F4] In pneumatic cleaning apparatus on a spinning machine e.g. a roving or slubbing frame, dust, fluff and fibres released by the sliver F passing through drafting rollers 28 (a) are entrained by an air flow 30 extending through a chamber 24 and conveyed to a filter 15 (on the intake side of a blower 3) through duct 26, connector 20, duct 21, pipe 22 and conduit 14 or (b) fall towards the lower part of the machine and are swept by blowing air currents 31, issuing from nozzles 8 and flowing over the stepped surfaces 7b-7d, into a trough 10 whence they are withdrawn by suction through a conduit 11, a suction chamber 13 and conduit 14. Pressure air supplied by blower 3 passes through a conduit 2 and duct 1, thence through distribution chamber 6 and connector 16 to chamber 24.. When a hinged lid 17 is raised the air circuit through chamber 24 is interrupted at the connectors 16 and 20. The distance between nozzles 8, considered in the direction of air flow, is four to ten times the equivalent diameter of the nozzle. |
