<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of output torque and prevent an oil temperature rise by providing a brake piston on the external surface of a case and a disc at the end of a drive shaft projected from the case for preventing the disc from agitating oil in a motor housing. CONSTITUTION:The diameter of a case 2 is made smaller than the diameter of an end plate 1, and a brake piston 9 is coupled to the external surface of the case 2. Also, a spring 11 is provided between the brake piston 9 and the end plate 1, and a disc 7 is fitted to the projected portion 6b of a drive shaft 6 from the case 2 via, for example, a spline. When pressure oil in a pressure receiving chamber 10 is made to flow to the side of a tank, the brake piston 9 is pushed with the spring 11 and the disc 7 is pressure fixed with a pair of plates 8, thereby braking the drive shaft 6. Furthermore, when pressure oil is supplied to the aforesaid chamber 10, the brake piston 9 is pushed against the spring 11 and the disc 7 is separated from the plates 8, thereby releasing brake power. As the brake piston 9 and the disc 7 are provided outside the case 2, oil in a motor housing 3 is free from agitation.</p> |
