A nozzle unit is fitted in a spray gun and comprises an outer cylindrical part, which defines a foam-generating chamber, into which liquid is injected in a conical jet from an opening in a rear wall of the foam-generating chamber. The jet cone defines a predetermined angle. The nozzle unit has a perforated wall 168, which is located in the outer cylindrical part and at a distance in front of the opening, from which the conical jet is delivered. The perforated wall 168 has ribs 201, 203 and gaps, and the rear edges of the parts of the ribs 201, 203 between the gaps are rounded off to produce a surface, which the conical jet can strike, to be deflected in various directions and mixed with air in the foam-generating chamber so as to produce foam. The rounded rear edge of each of the ribs 201, 203 is defined by an essentially circular rounding with a given radius R. The width of each gap is defined as S, and the ratio R:S between the radius R and the gap width S is especially between approximately 1:2 and 1:4. <IMAGE>
