摘要 PURPOSE:To realize ink ejection stability and at the same time, prevent the interior of a device from becoming contaminated by discharged ink by arranging an ink suction nozzle hole in close proximity to an ink jet nozzle hole. CONSTITUTION:An array of ink jet nozzles 2 is arranged in parallel with an array of ink suction nozzle holes 3 on the nozzle end surface of an ink jet head 1. The ink jet nozzle hole 2 is connected to an ink passage in the ink jet head 1 and communicates with an ink supply hole 4. In addition, the ink suction nozzle hole 3 communicates with an ink recovery hole 5 through an ink recovery channel. Ink is supplied to an ink tank 9 from a cartridge 7 via an ink pressure pump 8, and then is supplied to the ink jet head 1 through the ink supply hole 4. The ink pressure pump 8 is activated, if necessary, and bubbles are eliminated from the ink jet nozzle. An ink suction pump 10 is activated at the same time or after activation of the pump 8, then ink discharged from the ink jet nozzle 2 is sucked rapidly through the ink suction nozzle hole 3 and is recovered by an ink recovery cartridge.
