A process is disclosed for increasing the surface energy of an organic polymer material, in particular of polyolefins. The process consists in mixing approximately 99.5% to approximately 90.0% by weight of the polymer material with approximately 0.5% to approximately 10.0% by weight of an amphiphile corresponding to the formula: RA(CHR<2>[CH2]nA<1>)mR<1>, in which R and R<1> are chosen from the group comprising alkyl, aryl, alkaryl, acyl and arylacyl derivatives of an aliphatic or aliphatic-aromatic monoacid having a molecular weight from approximately 150 to approximately 500 daltons, A and A<1> are chosen from the group comprising O and S, R<2> is chosen from the group comprising H, CH3 and C2H5, n has a value from 0 to 3 and m has a value from 2 to 20.
