摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the interruption of a surgical operation and the contamination of hands by detecting a depression/elevation angle of a lens barrel, and displacing an eyepiece lens barrel to an optimum observing position, based on a result of this detection. CONSTITUTION:In an initial state, a lens barrel 11 of a microscope body 8 and an optical axis C are placed vertically, and a P1 area of a surgical operation objection O is observed. In this case, when a surgical operator brings a depression/elevation handle 14 to rotational operation in order to observe a P2 area of the surgical operation object O and moves the lens barrel 11 by a depression/elevation angle theta, the lens barrel 11 and an eyepiece lens barrel 13 are separated from a surgical operator's eye E. However, in this case, angle information for showing the depression/elevation angle theta is sent out of an angle detecting means 15, and a control part 25 which inputs this angle information sends a driving signal corresponding to a depression/elevation angle A to a motor 18. In such a way, the motor 18 rotates a motive gear 19, turns a turning supporting arm 12 and the eyepiece lens barrel 13, and allows the eyepiece lens barrel to approach the surgical operator's eye E. As a result, the surgical operator can observe the area P2 without adjusting the eyepiece lens barrel 13 at all, and also, without moving a position of his own eye E.
