PURPOSE:To always maintain a stable image density and resolution regardless of environmental conditions by counting the warm-up time to judge ambient temperature conditions and setting process conditions according to the ambient temperature. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic device is provided with a warm-up timer which counts the time required for a fixing part 14 to reach a prescribed temperature after a power source is turned on and an environment judging means judging the inside temperature of the device according to the length of the warm-up time. The ambient inside temperature of the device is judged from the time required for the fixing part 14 to warm up, and process conditions are set. Consequently, the reduction in image density is prevented. When the inside temperature of the device rises due to the heat radiation of a fixing unit after a prescribed time lapses, the temperature is returned to a normal set temperature, thereby preventing deterioration in the resolution of an image. Thus, a stable image density is secured and the high resolution is maintained regardless of an environment under which the device is installed. |
