摘要 |
PURPOSE:To efficiently and easily recover sulfuric acid from an aq. sulfuric acid soln. contg. iron sulfate, especially spent sulfuric acid generated in large quantities in the production of titanium oxide by a sulfuric acid process by electrolyzing the sulfuric acid soln. to anodically oxidize Fe<2+> to Fe<3+> and removing the iron ion by solvent extraction. CONSTITUTION:An aq. sulfuric acid soln. contg. iron sulfate, especially spent sulfuric acid generated in the production of titanium oxide by a sulfuric acid process is electrolyzed usually at 1-30 A/dm<2> current density to anodically oxidize dissolved Fe<2+> to Fe<3+>. This Fe<3+> is then removed by solvent extraction with a solvent such as kerosene and an extracting reagent such as cupferron and sulfuric acid is recovered. |
