A splitting device (1) for plastic film has a simpler design, which simplifies handling. The slitting teeth (9) are positioned at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the upper (2) and lower (3) jaws of the device (1) and are supported in a beam-shaped carrier (8) which has a greater width than the teeth (9). A recess in the upper jaw (2) which holds the teeth carrier (8) is designed as a trough (28) open at the bottom and has projections (27) which hold the teeth carrier (8) firmly in the jaw (2). The jaws (2,3) of the splitting device (1) are manufactured in polyamide (6), while the teeth carrier (8) is a 50% glass reinforced polyamide 66. USE/ADVANTAGE - Continuous slitting of plastic films. A simpler construction allows easier mfr. and handling. Tooth design ensures a slitting rather than a tearing action.
