Over the bus is supplied the operating voltage to the connector, while each terminal is fitted with an output coupler for the transmitted data and the supply voltage. The output coupler contains a capacitor. In front of the capacitor of the output coupler is incorporated a diode between the bus and the terminal. A constant current source is pref. connected in series to the diode and in parallel to the capacitor. Thus a forward current flow is secured through the diode in operation. A resistor (Rv) is replaced by the constant current source. USE/ADVANTAGE - Current supply in potentially explosive environment. Reliable line terminal for bus.
