PURPOSE:To enable an operator to select printing operation by a method wherein a resistant value of a thermal head is measured prior to printing, and whether inferiority of an printing image is generated or not is informed. CONSTITUTION:A data is sent one resistor by one resistor from a thermal head diagnostic function part 3 to a thermal head 5 via a printing control part 2 in activation or prior to printing, and a resistant value is measured. For a measured value, a data is loaded into the thermal head diagnostic function part 3 through a path from 1-b to 1-a, and whether the thermal head 5 is good article or not is judged. When not as a result of the judgement, a variation state of the resistant value is indicated by a state indication part 4, and an operator is informed thereof. Thereby, the operator can select whether printing is made possible or not from this state indication. |
