The belt-clamp is for a safety-belt system, having a load-supporting housing and two opposite jaws between which the belt passes. One of these is a wedge-shaped shoe sliding against a fixed face in the housing at its side furthest from the belt. The other jaw (20) slides in the housing (10) parallel to the belt (12), and is supported. The jaws (18, 20) engage positively together in a direction at right angles to the belt.
