A switch (10) is provided which comprises at least one switching member (11) for opening and closing an electrical current circuit; an operating member (12) which cooperates with the switching member (11); and a switch housing (13). The operating member (12) is struck by one limb (140) of a two limbed rocking lever (14) whereby the axis (15) about which the lever (14) pivots and the limb (140) which strikes the operating member (12) are enclosed in an axis housing (16). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in automobile engineering for driver operated electrical devices, e.g. dashboard or console instruments, or vehicle interior devices. Improves operating reliability and efficiency.
