The figure shows a 5/8 antenna (10) comprising whip (11), loading coil (12) and base section (13) attached to a piece of glass (14). Another base section (15) on the inside is mounted to a coaxial cable (26) using a spring contact element. In particular, the spring contact element, (24) is coil shaped and designed so that its inductance (22) and the impedance (L1) of the loading coil (12) provide impedance matching between the antenna (11) and cable (26). Preferably the antenna (11) is rotatable relative to base section (15) using support (20). A screw device (23), which has two parallel surfaces (29), allows adjustment/setting of desired angle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Vehicle antenna; provide simpler method of impedance matching.
