PURPOSE:To mold uniform activated carbon having high adsorbing efficiency, not requiring packing into a vessel, facilitating transportation and useful to adsorb and remove vapors of org. solvents, foul odors, etc., by mixing crushed activated carbon with PP fibers, filling the mixture into a mold and melt- bonding the PP fibers to the activated carbon by heating. CONSTITUTION:Crushed activated carbon is mixed with PP fibers of 0.05-0.15mm diameter and 5-10mm length. The pref. amt. of the PP fibers used is 5-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the activated carbon. The mixture is filled into a mold and the PP fibers are melt-bonded to the activated carbon by heating to <=200 deg.C to mold the activated carbon. |
